Scale Modeling

Frankie

This is Frankie, or what's left of him. I don't remember exactly when I built him, but it was over 40 years ago, probably more. My brother found him near a "fort" we built as kids, along with a few other bits of my childhood models. I brought him home with me in June of '08. After 40 years in a PA woods he's held up well. I just thought he should be here.

In 1997, I returned to scale modeling after a 15 year break. My main interests are armor and wheeled vehicles, but I will build anything that catches my eye. One of my favorite things to build is ambulances, I especially like to build military ambulances. So many military vehicles were converted into ambulances, that I will probably never run out of subject matter.

RSO1 Tractor - 2

Scale modeling has changed so much from before my hiatus. We now have so many different choices of kits, paints, tools, after-market sets, and resin. Not to mention the number of modeling websites, and all of the great reference pictures the web allows us access to. Now that I am older and have more patience I think my skills have improved as well. Funny thing though, now that I have the patience to take my time and do things right, my eyesight has gotten worse. I guess that's what you call "one of life's little trade offs".

These pages will be used to post pictures of my work, as well as reference pictures and links to some great modeling websites. To wrap things up will I leave you with this thought:
